Dear Land friends

As fall 🍂 is upon us, we wanted to remind you that this is the perfect time in Algarve to start planting trees 🌳 on our land. The cooler temperatures and increased moisture help young trees establish strong roots, ensuring healthy growth in the coming seasons.

In addition to planting, fall and spring are also the ideal times to tackle other important tasks, such as continuing to build the garden as planned, creating new paths, marking out areas for additional plantings, and improving existing infrastructure. This winter we plan to build a shed for storing horse manure, straw, tools, etc. These steps will help increase the usability and value of the land, make the site more attractive during the summer, and provide more needed natural shade.

All of this is a foundation for when we prepare for the next year.

We have created a budget outlining the costs for winter 2024/25, and we encourage every landowner to review it. As the project currently doesn’t have dedicated funds, we need to collectively support and make these improvements happen.

This year, it’s donation-based, but it’s important to recognize that yearly maintenance will incur ongoing costs.

Regarding project implementation, as a landscape architect, I will personally take responsibility for the process and supervise the volunteers involved in planting to ensure the work is done properly.
